Professional healthcare degree holders and biologists with graduate degrees have the foundation to teach anatomy and physiology at the undergraduate level, but often lack the instructional training, tools, and skills necessary for success in the college and university setting. In Human Anatomy and Physiology Instruction Program is designed to build on existing anatomy and physiology competencies and transform the graduate into a highly effective instructional specialist for the undergraduate lecture hall and laboratory. They don't say it explicity on the kickstarter but the art they show on the KS page are examples of the artist's work, not examples of the art in the book. From the section titled 'The Book': Each artist recreates the Ideal Male and Female illustrated in their own signature style and without the aid of external reference. Each angle is neutral, symmetrical and un-posed showing the front, side and 3/4 front angles as a classic animation turn-around. It seems the book will be an anatomy/physiology type book but only of a full figure in 3 directions and each page will be drawn by a different artist. So basically the book will be the same pose drawn over and over for 200 pages.
Which doesn't seem very helpful for an anatomy book or for an art book. I would want some variety in the poses. Different styles, realistic to cartoons, yes. Same poses, different styles. 100 different artists styles of same poses in one book or 100 different poses in one single artists style in most books.
I've yet to find and don't expect there to ever be a perfect book to cover many artists and many poses. This one in particular I think, for me anyway, it's just hard to visualize what we will actually get. All finished, partial finishes, rough poses, mixes of all of this, in the various artists' styles. If every one of these 100 artist have 10 years of experience, that's a 1000 years of experience. Yea 1000 years of repeating most of the same 10 years of experience.
I really hate when people put it together like this, It's not like their experience as a group get 100 times as better just because they are 100 artists. They have all struggled with learning the basics for 1year, then the more advanced for 4 years and then probably have trained specific types of artsy for the other 5 years. It's not like they all have focused on completely different things and when they collect their pictures you get what someone would only learn in 1000 years. Don't get me wrong, they are probably all good artists and that. But it's more like they get 100 different versions of 10 years of experience than that they mega morph in to some Super Art Zord.
